Why should Britons care about the ideological orientation of the incoming cabinet?

When we saw reports demonstrating the exaggeration of alleged weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that had been produced by Dr David Kelly and his team thrown into the dustbin by Anthony Blair's government, many of us were seething with indignation because we knew it was an attack on his intellectual honesty and on peace in the interests of non-UK interests.

Dr. Kelly made a tragic mistake in believing that the Commonwealth's babbling democracy protected him from telling the truth.

It was not enough to publicly discredit Kelly and to silence him permanently he was assassinated in the style of a certain intelligence agency. Dr Kelly was an expert on biological weapons in the service of the United Nations and his position on the allegations by Washington and London about alleged biological weapons in Iraq's hands between 1998 and 2002 made not only their governments uncomfortable, but a third party acting behind them.  His sudden death solved these problems.

At that time from the retired Benjamin Netanyahu and his successor Ehud Barak to the far right and key Sharon ministers like Benjamin Ben Elieser and Meir Dagan were persistently lobbying US Zionist groups to increase the production of false factual editorials and direct pressures on fractious politicians in Washington to embark on a justified war against Iraq. Similar gymnastics were carried out here and they became very aggressive in their efforts. Dr David Kelly's honesty left the whole of Whitehall in a bad light and he was exposing the falsity of the intelligence reports that MI6 (endorsed by the chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee) and the CIA had presented on the alleged Iraqi chemical weapons and that was a serious obstacle for Downing Street to remove and what happened? He conveniently turned up dead.

The then Labour Prime Minister, Tony Blair, was dismayed, and in a rogue fashion, along with an even more rogue press, tried to make the public believe that Dr. Kelly was going through a period of depression that led him to take his own life. Few, I think, bought into this sinister hoax, which was part of the whole evil plot that would ultimately claim the lives and health of millions of Iraqis. A villainy that no one forgets.

And who would we believe to have been the real beneficiaries of this execution that would be the beginning of a more extensive bloodletting?

Certainly not the US. The Americans were also used like the British to fulfil the agenda of an actor with a vested interest in generating this war and that was undoubtedly the state of Israel. Indeed, for years the hand of its creeping influence on Britain's foreign policy had been so well disguised that any questioning of it fell under the trite “No comment”.

Today there is no longer any modesty in manifesting the open Zionist partisanship of our officials and our own government as Liz Truss and her Tory colleagues have gleefully done at the “Conservative Friends of Israel” CFI. At that Conservative Friends of Israel convention these senior exponents of national politics showed their Zionist fervour by vowing among other things that they will not allow Iran to achieve its nuclear potential. This Zionist militancy is rather a rancorous anti-Arab militancy, which then spread into Islamophobic militancy today redirected against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Something is not right with these expressions; perhaps the most shocking is the one expressed by the prime minister who said “I am a great Zionist and a great supporter of Israel”. Wait a minute, does that mean we are to be used again for dirty games and wars that will benefit Israeli geopolitics; are we to compete with the Americans to see who is more Zionist and who sheds more blood for them; are we to compete with the Americans to see who is more Zionist and who sheds more blood for them? 

It seems that Liz Truss is not being realistic. Or does she not see that Britain is entering a deep economic recession as a result of the disastrous US financial and trade sanctions imposed by her predecessor, which by the way benefit only them, and that the sabotage of Nord Stream has further complicated the lives of all Europeans, including us, and that Israel is coincidentally another of the beneficiaries by selling gas from a gas field in Lebanese waters to the EU.

US foreign policy is more like an appendage of Israel than an appendage of its national interests. Of course we know of its imperial vocation and the crisis it is going through with its declining hegemonism but interwoven in this gigantic and intricate structure are nesting Zionist nodes that concur in a coordinated manner with major lobbies like AIPAC that besides influencing Washington's foreign policies, squeezes Americans out of their tax money that goes directly to Tel Aviv.

Billions of dollars a year go to this entity that serves to finance its weapons programmes including its nuclear weapons programme, illegal settlements (with US and European construction companies) in territories stolen from the Palestinians, leaving a large remainder to be injected into its financial networks that extend around the world. And who benefits from all this money, only the Israelis.

What has been the US quid pro quo for these generous largesse? As many Americans with knowledge of these dark manoeuvres such as former CIA officer Phillip Giraldi have pointed out, they report with documents the treachery and death against the Americans. But this well-known writer and editor of the National Interest only points out the best-known cases of Israeli perfidy characterised by backstabbing and taking every advantage of the role of the poor victim of persecution.

In the current geopolitical scenario in which the whole of Europe, including the British Isles, the risk of a nuclear clash between NATO and Russia grows with each passing day. As the renowned American historian George F. Kennan put it, “NATO's expansion is the beginning of a new cold war”. In this sordid context Israel is playing the game and doing so as it has done since it inserted itself into Palestine, ambiguously, stealthily and deceitfully, always using others for its own purposes. Messianism convinces them of a superiority that only they believe in and by which they justify trampling on gentiles. Do the Americans know it, do the Russians know it, does Liz Truss and her bootlickers in the British political class know it?
