Everything serves to achieve the ends. This can be said of the policy of double standards that represents both American policy and that is currently being seen in the forgiveness of penalties (pardons) that Trump is granting to Army officers accused of atrocities in the war zone

In one of the videos taken by American aviation that bombed Iraq back in April 2003, one could see how an Iraqi man who walked carelessly down the green of a street in Baghdad instantly disappears in the middle of a flash of light and smoke that it was nothing but the impact of an AGM-114 “Hell-Fire” remote control missile fired to destroy a supposed military target. Between comments and laughter some of the military who exposed this event gave the clear impression of being playing a video game. Nothing new that has not been seen before during the first campaign of 1991 in which the dead and the pain caused to thousands of civilians would hide from television cameras. And then here come the questions How could this type of facts be explained against the civilian population of an attacked country and who should judge them?

The death machinery of the Americans and their allies guaranteed, in addition to the mass and impersonal death, a supposed impunity of their actions since, without witnesses in sight and demolished the government of Saddam Hussein would eliminate the legal system of the country which included to his administration of justice and of course to his judges who would be replaced by others elected by the same State Department. In addition, the profuse and continuous propaganda against Muslims (instigated from the Neosionist evangelistic pulpits) that dehumanized the inhabitants of the attacked countries had to be taken into account.

With this panorama in sight, the brains of the Ministry of Defense and the State Department were questioning who was going to judge the pilots, soldiers and even US commanders for massacring citizens of a country that no longer had judicial independence? The assurance that their actions would be covered by the media story and the bias of their historians was guaranteed.

They were even confident that any atrocity would be forgotten because no one would dare to bring to justice the commission of these crimes. Very surely the same Secretary of State Donald Rumsfeld and his legal advisors at that time were confident when they thought “And if someone did it whos would prosecute these crimes?” In a way, Bush-Cheney administration officials were very sure that “nobody” He was going to open his mouth and much less dare to raise his allegations of heinous war crimes such as those seen in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

To the terror that they said to fight, there was another that was installed between their own ranks and that era that acts of treason would not be tolerated that besides being against the National Security it was a treason to the Mother Country. The psychological control was assured.

Several factors led to this misjudgment of the planners of these wars. With the very sure statement “Lord, do not worry that nobody can claim anything against our boys”, I ignore the importance of the Internet as at that time new real-time news vehicle and the decided opposition that existed (and still persists) to the American presence in these countries. Only that they are masochists. Or even who can want an invading power that slaughters entire families, arrests, abuses and tortures their fellow citizens with the impunity of a simple thug band?

The contempt of these officials not only overlooked the revelations for investigations that men like Julian Assage with the invaluable contributions of former officer Bradley “Chelsea” Manning and former spy Eduard Snowden exposed to world public opinion putting the political and intelligence world on its head in Washington, I leave in evidence the deep immorality that governs “American democracy.”

The disclosure of an unclear number of crimes committed by US troops (both military and intelligence) over these 18 years can not be clearer in this regard. But we do not even know for sure how many are harmed by the actions of these types.

It is only one more controversy in the political framework that surrounds all these criminal acts carried out under the misleading label of the “Fight against terror”. It is a state policy that the US has not modified since the Bush-Cheney neocon administration and that Donald Trump has only made up on some occasion but without touching the bottom of the matter. Particularly as regards the crimes committed by the military personnel who were seized with their hands in the mass or left irrefutable evidence (Photos with dead or agonized people at floor) because they could not hide them under the table, there was no other way but to process them administratively by the force to which they belonged.

A symbol that this is so is undoubtedly the award that Trump awarded to former agent Gina Haspel by giving him the address of the CIA. Haspel not only covered the Dirty Task Forces that started with these human hunts, was involved in crimes against humanity against prisoners in secret prisons in Thailand in 2002 and then in Iraq after the 2003 invasion.

SEALS trampled on a “Taliban” or an alleged “ISIS” militiaman killed in photographs, urinating or incinerating dead Taliban bodies, rapes of filmed Iraqi women and an endless list of atrocities had to be explained in some way. And this was ordered by their respective commanders just because they asked themselves, How can we explain to public opinion that our guys are committing these atrocities and like to do it?

Of course, these boys have not been prosecuted by the justice administrations of Afghanistan, let alone from Iraq, since both were emptied of their institutions and today they are two entities deprived of sovereignty and political independence. For the families of the victims of the bestialities of the Americans, there is no possibility of obtaining a gram of justice and not only because of these circumstances in which they are surrounded but because they are too poor to be able to get their cases with external lawyers and that are not influenced by the “democratic” pressures.

Until today, US criminals are protected by not being reached by the International Criminal Court because Washington does not recognize as part of its legislation the Rome Statute and all the complementary legislation although this will undoubtedly be a matter of time for that to change. In the same policy of international impunity are Israeli officials and troops who carry out a similar criminal policy against the Palestinian population and neighboring countries. Here we could say that we are facing a “teacher and student” relationship since the dirty tactics that the US has been implementing since 2001 are similar to those that Israel had already been using since it was implanted in the Middle East.

Currently Donald Trump, pressed against the strings of an Impeachment and with it his possible dismissal, is playing his cards to win the sympathies of the American patriots and their families who have sacrificed themselves in useless external wars for the homeland and the security of their country. In this regard, a round of efforts has begun to respond to the claims of lawyers and relatives of military personnel accused of having committed aberrant acts in order to forgive the sentences of several detainees in federal prisons for crimes committed in war zones. We must also clarify that the chances of expelling Trump from the White House would not be as easy to realize as the Democrats wanted. Some are even saying that Trump is a necessary evil.

The condonations of grief or presidential pardon that Donald Trump has granted to several troops who were prosecuted for atrocities in Afghanistan, reaffirms the thesis that the disputed president did not alter certain areas and issues that the deep state does not want to touch for which, we must be realistic and accept that it will take time for the thousands of Afghan and Iraqi victims forgotten by the bureaucracy to have their moment of justice.
