“TRUST ISSUES”

Soon the war will enter its sixth month and beyond the fairy tales of the politicians and their media who are footing the bill for Washington's stupidities?

By Sir Charlattam

There can be no better reflection of a given reality than that which one experiences oneself. I am referring to what the Ukrainians are experiencing at the moment in a war that is dragging what is left of their country into a ruin from which it will not emerge without taking on an unpayable debt, and all because of listening to the siren songs of Washington and the European Union.

This could have been settled at a negotiating table long before the Russian actions began. Volodymyr Zelensky was undoubtedly duped by the Americans and the British into believing that he could take on Russia and be in the bronze of history. From then on he surrendered to the designs of these experts in manufacturing fairy tales.

Part of these designs involved striking first and through a lightning military operation (in which NATO was involved) to attack the Donbass in March and eliminate the pro-independence authorities in Donetsk and Luhansk. But the FSB could have known about these plans in advance and that is why Moscow anticipated its own move by disrupting Kiev's plans. Today the consequences are plain to see. Zelensky must have realised that he had already lost before he started and instead of picking up the phone to start talks with Vladimir Putin he fell back on the empty promises of the White House and the sacked Boris Johnson.

Not only the Ukrainians themselves are becoming aware of this mistake but also all European citizens but particularly the Anglo-Saxon public in the US and the British Isles who hear every night on news channels and talk shows how "experts" and retired generals make analyses far removed from the reality of the field of actions in Ukraine.

If you listen to these arguments you should ask yourself where is the coverage on Western TV channels and in the mainstream media today? If everything is going so well, there is no explanation for this absence, let alone the large black holes and inconsistencies in the political narrative coming out of Washington and Brussels.

Predictably, those analysts and former career military officers, some with involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, were blowing up a big smoke balloon. In reality, this could not surprise me since, beyond the disaster that both wars were for the Americans and ours, during every stage of each of them both governments lied about how things were going from day to day and these lies were endorsed by these same commanders who today try to stage triumphalism in the midst of the ruins.

On the strictly political front in Washington, it seems that there is no agreement on classifying Russia as a sponsor of terrorism either. This is what the eternal Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi is claiming, a claim that, in addition to being malicious and fallacious for many government officials, would be taking things too far.

The economic warfare phase is also failing to live up to the expectations that the brains in Washington had hoped for. Let's not forget that fuel shortages and rising prices have disrupted British life since the bureaucrats in "10 Downing Street" and the loudmouths in the Foreign Office launched the crusade against Russia. Joe Biden's own administration is on the defensive as it endures the cracking of its economy by the sanctions that have been applied against Russia. Worse off are we who are administered by lunatics and liars who believed that following these delusional measures would bring Russia to its knees. The consequences of blindly aligning on the right with Washington are already showing casualties (Mario Draghi and Boris Johnson) and a lot of damage to the political and economic structure of the EU.

Now the International Energy Agency (IEA) is warning the EU that it should prepare to phase out its use of Russian gas as, following NATO's tactics, it continues to cooperate with Kiev not to stop the war and in return Russia would cut off supplies altogether. The cut-off of Nord Stream 1 was a stark and very clear warning of what is to come in the middle of winter.

But that is not the end of the problems. According to the IMF, if the gas supply is cut off, in addition to the cold that the entire European population would suffer, this would lead to a recession and all governments should prepare to share energy supplies.

As we can see things can get worse and without the threat of nuclear war.
