A GREAT USEFUL IDIOT

Why are Americans being dragged by their president into an unnecessary war? Today more than ever, they must ask themselves, ‘Cui bono?

By Sidney Hey

How many times have we heard this phrase? It can be applied very well to what we see in the current international chaos and especially to one person in particular: Donald Trump. Why is Trump playing the role of the useful idiot, and for whom? Undoubtedly, he feels quite the opposite, which is to be expected from a narcissistic megalomaniac who can barely see beyond his own nose, but this precisely reinforces this thesis, as these qualities blind him to his own stupidity. The question that would answer all the questions about what is happening today is: Who will ultimately benefit from this war?

The launch of Operation “Epic Fury” against Iran is undoubtedly, in addition to being an act of aggression that violates international law, the watershed moment marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new geopolitical era, without us yet knowing whether it will be for better or worse. For now, Iran's retaliation – unexpectedly swift – has been truly surgical and lethal, as in the first 24 hours since it began, it has struck some 27 military and intelligence facilities (including the CIA base in Dubai and the hotel in Manama, Bahrain, where US personnel were hiding) across the peninsula. Even the base that the Americans and their Israeli partners have in Erbil, northern Iraq, was hit hard by Iranian missiles, which were so accurate that they blew up the weapons and explosives depot, causing a number of casualties which the Pentagon refrains from specifying.

Donald Trump has once again disappointed his critical MAGA base by plunging the US into a conflagration that was instigated long ago by Netanyahu from Israel and persistently by the power of Zionist revisionism that controls US foreign policy from within. He is proving that he serves the expectations of the elite of evangelical charlatans and frauds such as Senator Lindsay Graham, who, speaking of religion and religious war, seek to justify this new carnage (like that committed by the Israelis against the girls' school in Minab) against Muslims and, this time, Iranians.

Barely 48 hours after hostilities began, Trump himself came out to acknowledge that there have been casualties and that there will surely be more, since (once again) he is following the directives of the Israeli General Staff and not the Pentagon. Beyond his classic triumphalist rhetoric and assumptions, Trump is well aware that things are not going as he expected, and this is something that analysts and military officials are reminding him of every hour.

On the commercial front, attempts by some oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz despite warnings from the IRGC resulted in severe damage to the ships and losses among their crews, signalling that this is a serious matter.

According to some sources in the Gulf, Iranian forces hoped that Saturday would be the day chosen for the attack, given that the Wall Street stock exchange is closed on that day and therefore oil prices would not be affected, one of the objectives that Washington aims to control if it destroys Iran. That is why the IRGC had meticulously prepared its well-camouflaged missile and anti-ship torpedo firing positions in several coastal areas of the southern Persian Gulf. Among other targets, they successfully hit support ships and the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier itself, which, after suffering casualties among its crew and the outbreak of fires below deck, had to retreat out to sea towards the Indian Ocean due to the damage caused.

The opening of the stock markets on Monday reflected the weight of the crisis, with the price of crude oil rising by 10% and the prospect of further increases if the conflict spreads. Added to this, the reactions of Moscow and Beijing condemning these actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran could be indicative of a sudden change of scenario that would force the Americans and Israelis to curb their actions.

In the Western media, there is (in addition to misinformation) a great deal of filtering of information, partly because, in addition to being consistent with the political line of Washington and Tel Aviv, a large part of them are bought off or are part of groups that are in the hands of Zionist militants and former Israeli military or intelligence officials, as is the case with AXIOS. In this regard, and as expected, they will present the aggressors as champions of who knows what and the Iranians as mere cockroaches that must be crushed.

With regard to the latter, it is now Iran's turn to see up close the most terrible and monstrous face of Western brutality. Just as happened to Iraq in 1991 with thirteen years of inhuman sanctions, followed by invasion and occupation in 2003; what happened to Libya in 2011 with atrocious massacres committed by NATO and its Wahhabi and Takfir mercenaries lent by the corrupt Gulf monarchies, or what Syria is experiencing today under an Al Qaeda-style regime supported by Washington... What else was needed to benefit Israel but to destroy the Islamic Republic of Iran?

But it will not be an easy task. There are many within the US itself who believe that Trump and Netanyahu have opened the gates of hell. As we mentioned earlier, a campaign against Iran would not be like the attacks against Iraq in 1991 and 2003, not at all, and this is already having fatal consequences for the American forces, who have already begun to cover up their casualties. Likewise, it is too late, the US is seriously committed to this and it is all thanks to the petulant Donald Trump, who has surely already committed young Americans to be sent to invade Iran.

In conclusion, why is Trump playing the role of the great fool? Simply because he is serving the objectives of the Zionist hegemon who seeks to rule over the entire Middle East and, to do so, necessarily needs to eliminate Iran, inevitably creating a global conflagration between the Christian world and the Islamic world, which the Zionist power, longing for its own empire under ‘Eretz Israel’, will watch as both are torn apart from above.
