GEOPOLITICAL INTERCONNECTIONS

What links mass criminals, and who are their backers?

By Sidney Hey

The speed and sheer volume with which events unfold today could pose an obstacle to reporting them; at least, that was the case in the last century. But nowadays, the marvels of technology offered by the internet provide a level of immediacy that is extremely useful for the man in the street, yet terrifyingly inconvenient for vested interests and government authorities. What a major newspaper or news network in Washington and New York could once edit to suit the government’s wishes (particularly in the US) is now very difficult to do, unless they resort – and when it suits them – to new tools such as AI.

At the same time, this speed allows us to notice and then delve deeper into the interconnection that exists between many of these events – seemingly unconnected – thus enabling critical thinking of our own regarding what is really, or at least intuitively, happening.

The treacherous and criminal missile attack on 28 February against the girls’ school in the Iranian town of Minab was far from a mistake. The 178 little girls who lost their lives were the victims of a deliberate crime. Investigations confirmed that the US launched two follow-up strikes to finish off the target, knowing full well that there was no military installation there. A few weeks ago, a Lebanese girl and her father were injured by an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon. The girl lay dead and her father was wounded. When the rescue team arrived to assist them, they were treacherously attacked by the Israelis killing them all.

These two inhuman acts, which resulted in these two horrific scenes, though set in different contexts, reveal a continuity that identifies a pattern of behaviour, underpinned by a policy that exposes a mindset and a highly arbitrary view of the value of human life. In short, it is clear evidence of a necrophilic mindset.

The terrorist attack launched by Ukrainian neo-Nazis using drones on 22 May against the school in Starobelsk, Luhansk, also reveals this same malignant and amoral linearity of an enemy that appears to possess the same genes. Using the same sadistic tactic as in the other two crimes we have cited, the neo-Nazis repeatedly and viciously attacked the school whilst there were still young teenagers in the rubble crying out to be rescued. The total death toll from this terrorist attack stood at 21 students.

As can be seen, these are three cases that appear unrelated due to geographical distance, the specific circumstances underlying their conflicts, and the apparent ideologies each claims to uphold. Yet whilst these conflicts have distinct and unique historical roots, those behind the scenes fuelling these necrophilic perpetrators recur with striking consistency across all three scenarios.

But who might be the patrons and benefactors of these ruthless actors?

Both the Americans and the Europeans have been providing (out of sympathy or convenience) these criminal actors with costly and ongoing material and financial support, without which they could not sustain themselves over time. In the first case, both Democratic and Republican administrations, as well as the current MAGA administration, and in the second, NATO and countries such as Britain, France and Germany provide – through various channels and in certain areas – both the Kiev regime and that of Tel Aviv with everything necessary to enable them to harm not just the combatants but the populations of their opponents.  With regard to the latter, there is also a notable difference in military potential and sophistication; yet it could be said that both possess a great capacity for resilience and moral strength which the former lack.

Both the Russian Federation (and by this we mean all Russian citizens) and the Islamic Republic of Iran (as the current representative of the Islamic resistance and of all honourable Muslims) find themselves under siege – and not by chance – by the tactics, sanctions and disinformation policies emanating from the very same Western actors who share this hatred of the East.

This line of reasoning reveals a deep division within the human population that transcends nationalities, religious affiliations and even ideologies. The Anglo-Zionist bloc brings together not only Americans and Israelis, but is backed by supporters of other nationalities, both Jewish and non-Jewish (particularly evangelicals), who support and actively promote aggression against the Arab-Islamic world, which denounces the occupation and ongoing genocide in Palestine. Added to this is also Russophobia and Sinophobia amongst some of these figures, who cannot act (openly) as they do against Muslims because doing so would bring serious consequences.

There is another major objective that unites these sectors, and that is to stoke the war and keep it going indefinitely. What are the reasons for this?  Leaving aside the purely commercial motives linked to the sale of arms, consultancy and comprehensive defence programmes, along with all their advances in AI, there are far-reaching strategic objectives that define these inhumane policies and which are clearly imbued with a messianic supremacism.
